Species
Hooded Crow
Corvus cornix
Hooded crows are incredibly smart and playful birds, native to northern and eastern Europe, and are found all over Norway.
They're not just capable of recognizing and remembering faces, they also pass on information about people and locations to eachother at night, when all the crows in the area gather in big flocks at the same roosting spot. Befriending a crow can result in a life-long friendship with the entire flock, but if you're not kind to them you may just as well end up with a flock of enemies for life.
Crows are also excellent bodyguards. When a bird of prey, like a goshawk, approaches, the crows flock together to chase the intruder away, providing protection to the other birds in the area as well.
